Example ObjectRepository abortTransaction 001

 

 

Description

The abortTransaction function closes the previously opened transaction. The value in the Object REpository is the value that was set before the transaction started.

 

Details

(setq gor (new ObjectRepository: "myarchive.odb")) Returns: #<ObjectRepository 123456>
(setq gor["one"] "Hello world") Returns: #<ObjectRepository 123456>

The value before the transaction was opened.

gor["one"] Returns: Hello World

A transaction is opened.

(beginTransaction gor) Returns: true

The new value after the transaction was opened.

(setq gor["one"] "Goodbye world") Returns: #<ObjectRepository 123456>
gor["one"] Returns: Goodbye world
(abortTransaction gor) Returns: true

The original value of the Repository before the transaction is returned.

gor["one"] Returns: Hello World

Notes and Hints

After the abortTransaction, the assignment of the index (key) "one" to "Goodbye world" is rolled back and we see the ObjectRepository as it was just prior to the beginTransaction.
