Description

This example shows the setf function use the . (period) operator to specify the ObjectRepository and the key.

 

Details

Create a new ObjectRepository.

(setq gor (new ObjectRepository: "mice.db")) Returns: #<ObjectRepository 197815>

Install a key and value pair; Install the value as an immediate in the Repository index.

(setf gor.one "minnie") Returns: #<ObjectRepository 197815>

Install a key and value pair; Install the value as an immediate in the Repository index.

(setf gor.three "mighty") Returns: #<ObjectRepository 197815>

Install a key and value pair; Install the value on the disk.

(setq gor.two "Speedy Gonzales") Returns: #<ObjectRepository 197815>

Notes and Hints

The ObjectRepository stores all saved objects in ascending order by their key values. The special form of the ref function can obtain the sorted order of the keys:

(ref gor position: "two")

;; Returns 3

(ref gor position: "three")

;; Returns 2

(ref gor position: "one")

;; Returns 2
