Description

If the specified Lambda object has a new child Lambda, then it will be invoked immediately after the new function.

Invoke the Lambda foo1:

(foo1 9) Returns: 9
(foo1.sum 2) Returns: 11

Make a distinct copy of the Lambda foo1 and demonstrate how its persistent variables diverge from those of foo1. Note: when the copy is made, the foo2.new child Lambda is automatically invoked (part of the built-in event handling in Analytic Information Server).

(setq foo2 (new foo1 10)) Returns: #<Lambda 234567>
(foo2.sum 2) Returns: 92
(foo1.sum 2) Returns: 11

Notes and Hints

In this example, the new child Lambda is invoked immediately after the new function. This multiplies the value of y in the cloned Lambda (foo2). Of course, the value of y in the original Lambda (foo1) is unchanged.
