Example Boolean defmethod 012

 

 

Description

This example defines a method and a message named toEnglish that converts the Boolean Value, true, to the English word "Yes" and converts the Boolean value, false, to the English word "No".

 

Details

Add a message named toEnglish to the Boolean Methods Dictionary.

(defmethod Boolean: toEnglish (b) (if b "Yes" "No")) Returns: #<Dictionary 123456>

To invoke the Lambda that responds to the toEnglish message, issue the following statement:

(send toEnglish: true) Returns: Yes

To invoke the Lambda that responds to the toEnglish message, issue the following statement:

(send toEnglish: false) Returns: No

Alternatively, the Lambda may be invoked using the following syntax:

(toEnglish: true) Returns: Yes
(toEnglish: false) Returns: Yes
