Description

This example uses the added method appendString which will append all the values in a List.

 

Details

Add a method named appendStrings which will increment each value in a Pair.

(defmethod List: appendStrings (s) (apply append s)) Returns: #<Dictionary 123456>

Define a List that contains Pairs of Strings.

(define Mary '("Mary " "had " "a " "little " "lamb ") ) Returns: #<Pair 123456>

Invoke the method named appendStrings to append all the values in a Pair.

(send appendStrings: Mary) Returns: Mary had a little lamb

The method can be invoked simply by name:

(appendStrings: Mary) Returns: Mary had a little lamb

Notes and Hints

To view the entry in the methods Dictionary created by the defmethod function, you can use the method name to access the dictionary entry by

#<Dictionary 123456>[methodName:] or

To determine the number of assigned methods:

(length (methodsOf List: ))

To access the nth method name:

(methodsOf Pair: )[n 0]

If the method Name is unknown, it is possible to reference the nth name from the dictionary:

(ref (methodsOf List: ) n 0)

or

#<Dictionary 123456>[n 0]
