Description

The error function assigns an error string to the error type.

 

Details

The previous statement will return the error string as an Analytic Information Server error value. The error statement will also print on the console the second argument, which is simply a text string.

(error "bug" "This is a bug") Returns: "This is a bug" !bug!

This will return the error string as an Analytic Information Server error value and print out the result of the second argument:

(error "what?" "The error is " (+ 1 3)) Returns: "The error is "4!what?!
