Description

These examples use the text function to convert a Numeric Data Type into a String or Text data type with a specified format.

 

Details

(text 5732.279 "#,##0") Returns: 5,732
(text 5732.279 "#,###.##0") Returns: 5,732.279
(text 5732.279 "$#,###.#0") Returns: $5,732.28
(text -57.327 "($##.#0)") Returns: ($57.33)
(text .573279 "##.0%") Returns: 57.3%
(text -.573279 "(##.0%)") Returns: (57.3%)

Notes and Hints

The position of the $ % and , symbols are not important. The comma (,) is always placed after three digits. The dollar ($) is always placed before the number. The percent (%) is always placed after the number.
