Example String fileRead 001

 

 

Description

This example uses the fileRead function to read a previously written file using the file length to specify what portion of the file to write.

 

Details

Creates a new file.

(setq fileID (fileOpen "testReadRecord.txt" 1 0)) Returns: 1

Writes 30 characters in a file.

(fileWrite fileID {123456789012345678901234567890} ) Returns: 30

Closes the file without erasing it.

(fileClose fileID 1) Returns: true

Opens the existing file.

(setq fileID (fileOpen "testReadRecord.txt" 1 1)) Returns: true

Reads and returns the first 10 characters in the file.

(fileRead fileID 10) Returns: 1234567890

Closes and erases the file

(fileClose fileID 0) Returns: true
